Ever since Natalie Speidel was a young girl, she shared a love for all things sports with her father, Walter Speidel. As an adult, she dreamed of opening her own sports bar where people like her could gather to cheer on their favorite teams paired with good food and beer. When she told her father of this dream he teased: “Natalie, if we opened a bar, you would put me in the poor-house.”

When her father died unexpectedly, she was determined to open a bar to honor his memory and Walt’s Pourhouse was born.

Thanks to the power of the internet, a few business books, help from friends and a lot of trial and error, Natalie put together a business plan and opened Walt’s in June 2008. With passion on her side, Natalie has turned a hole-in-the-wall bar into a destination for locals and people passing through.

Natalie set out to make her bar everyone’s bar. She wanted people to feel like they were at home from the moment they walked in the door. The first step was hiring her staff. Natalie has genuine friendships with all her employees and would do anything for them. A happy staff means happy customers!

The second step to making Walt’s feel like home is customer service. No matter if you are a regular customer or in for your first time, her staff strives for excellence!

The third step was to create a menu with a wide range of choices. Take a look at our menu — there is something for just about everybody! With this combination, Natalie has successfully made her dream a reality.
